iPhone 16e Wallpaper Has a Hidden Meaning

Apple's default wallpaper for the new iPhone 16e has a reflective sphere, and there is apparently a hidden meaning behind this design.

iPhone 16e Front
According to Daring Fireball's John Gruber, Apple's default wallpapers for the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16e subtly suggest how many rear camera lenses each device has. As noted by Gruber, it's a clever little touch.

Given the iPhone 16e has a single rear camera, the wallpaper has a single reflective sphere. Meanwhile, the wallpapers for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro visualize the two and three rear cameras on those respective devices.

iPhone 16e pre-orders began arriving to customers today, and the device is now available to purchase at Apple Stores.
