The New York Post reports that some disagreement about music distribution may be preventing certain "big-time" artists from being offered via the iTunes Music Store:
- But many big-time artists - including Madonna, the Foo Fighters and the Dave Matthews Band - still balk at making their music available to Apple because of the computer maker's demand that the artists allow single tracks to be sold in addition to albums.
Apple's policies were briefly detailed by CD Baby! last week (but then pulled by CD Baby!) after Apple met with independent labels, including the impression that all songs were to be offered as a per-song basis.
