ATI's new Card

MacMike writes "MacNN is third in line to break the story (http://www.macnn.com/features/atiradeon.shtml), after Reuters (http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20000419/tc/tech_ati_1.html) and MacWEEK (http://macweek.zdnet.com/2000/04/23/0424atichip.html), of ATI's latest graphics ship but has the most correct details. The new chip, is called the Radeon 256 (who comes up with these lame names?).

But MacNN gets this little detail wrong:
"While an announcement regarding Mac availability of the chip won't be made tonight, Mac users can expect the chip to hit the platform possibly later this year. The chip is scheduled to ship for PCs late this summer."

The card *will* be available for Macs this summer. Look for it at Macworld NY in July.
