Apple Releases Fourth iOS 27.2 Beta

Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming iOS 27.2 update to developers for testing purposes, with the update coming a week after Apple released the third iOS 27.2 beta. Apple also seeded a new iPadOS 27.2 beta.

Registered developers can download the beta updates by opting in under Settings > General > Software Update and selecting the iOS 27 developer beta.

iOS 27.2 includes Apple's redesigned Health app with new Insight and Longevity tabs. It also brings Siri AI in new languages. There are several other new features, with details available 4re5 our features guide.

Apple releasing an iOS 27.2 beta ahead of a iOS 27.1 beta was surprise because the company plans to ship the iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1, but it likely wants to keep some of the iPhone Duo features hidden for longer.

The ‌iPhone Duo‌ will launch on October 23. Apple previously said the new ‌Siri‌ AI languages in iOS 27.2 would be available in October, so it's likely iOS 27.2 will come shortly after the ‌iPhone Duo‌'s release date. iOS 27.2 is also required for the new HomeView.

Honestly today feels like a complete loss for Apple. The HomePod commercial is questionable at best, the price dosent refect the market it is entering, the same but worse with the new Apple TV and its 300 price tag, and the HomePod mini just seem blah for the price increase they got. Then add the beta not only removing features but colors and identity to its core apps. Just an L all around. I know you cant win all the time but how did some of these decisions get approved?

iOS 27 is just as bad as iOS 26 😳 maybe somethings are better but others is worse….
iOS 18 was the last good iOS.
Now the first 5 betas of iOS 27 were good. Beta 6 iOS 27 is when things started getting as bad as iOS 26 has been.

You’re talking about 27.0 beta 6 from mid-August. Now it’s mid-October and 27.2 beta 4 is out. Go try it if you don’t believe me. Performance is the best according to the comments.

Apparently the new health app is gone. Opening health says "Coming Later This Year, the redesigned health app will be available later this year. Your data from the beta remains on your device and is viewable in settings."

It will remove the new Health app it you install it. The new Health app will be back in 27.3 beta around late-October

Today was a lot. And if all of this nonsense was not enough already, look at what they did? What the hell is Apple doing with the Apple Music UI?

Apple Music’s new app icon is the worst that Apple has ever done so far because of heavy criticism from users for ditching its signature red and pink branding, but Apple did this to drop the classic pink-red theme from a part of a larger identity overhaul for Apple Music. By moving to a monochrome look, Apple is stripping away the legacy visual style inherited from iTunes and the iPod era to build a separate modern brand. This new direction matches a wider marketing shift toward bold, black-and-white visuals, high-contrast layouts, and a new chunky lowercase logo. Functionally, keeping the app icon and interface elements neutral also stops the app's branding from clashing with the vibrant and colorful album art on your screen.

Update: I installed the beta but can confirm the music app is white.
Update 2: Also the redesignated Health app is removed in this beta. Confirmed it’s coming in 27.3.
