Apple said it is "working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward," but provided no timeline for EU availability. It costs $299 in the U.S. and launches on November 13 in eight countries around the world.

Not even in Switzerland for some
weird reason. I don’t want it, but I find it odd. It might have something to do with la language support?
It’s beneficial to Apple and they can blame the EU.

Is this Apple's middle finger to the EU?
No, it’s Apple complying with the EU’s regulations.

The EU says Apple isn’t allowed to offer SiriAI on iOS devices unless Meta, OpenAI, and Grok are allowed to comb through Apple’s users’ most personal data. That is unacceptable to Apple so they don’t offer the feature. SiriAI on a compatible iOS device is required for HomeView to work, so the EU is out of luck.

It’s simple cause and effect, and expect to see a lot more of it from all tech companies in the future.

They did say so. In June the Commission said not launching Siri AI in the EU was “Apple’s and Apple’s only”, that nothing in the DMA stops them, and that Apple asked for an exemption of 18 months instead of building a compliant solution. A fine only comes if they launch without complying. That’s not a trap, that’s the law. And answering to shareholders is exactly why Apple’s statements are PR.
The EU is the one releasing meaningless PR statements.

If the EU passed a law saying if hotels give free breakfast to customers, they have to give free breakfast to anyone who walks in the door, then while technically true the decision to not offer free breakfast “is Hilton’s and Hilton’s alone” it’s not an accurate statement about who is really at fault for free breakfast no longer being an amenity.

No, it’s Apple complying with the EU’s regulations. ...
... ironically, in ways that the EC never intended nor anticipated.
