How about finding the courage to allow the iPadOS version to run on macOS too (this would allow the Mac to run both Java and Bedrock for the first time)?

Very much this. And AppleTV while they’re at it.

What'd be nice (in addition to a macOS version) would be adjusting the game resolution based on any externally connected display.

Plug in or AirPlay to a TV and the game now runs at 1080p/4k, or whatever resolution the display is

That combined with a controller or mouse/keyboard would be very nice.

Finally, I don’t need to play Minecraft with keyboard and mouse on my HP laptop that gets hotter than the sun.
now just bring bedrock edition to MacOS and Linux, then I’ll be happy.

This is why I love playing games on my iPad Pro instead of my Mac. It's fan less! Once I got used the silence of my Xbox Series X, it's difficult to accept laptops that are loud as a private jet during load.
Speaking of noise and heat - the M1 iPad Pro runs Minecraft like butter. It doesn't even get slightly warm.
