Financial Times reports that Microsoft will be moving into the portable music/video scene with its new Portable Media Center software.
The software will be licensed to various manufacturers and are expected to be first available for sale in the second half of 2004. The new devices will allow users to listen to music and watch movies on the road.
Meanwhile, Dell announced details for its upcoming Dell DJ Player. The new portable audio player will come in 15GB ($249) and 20GB ($329) sizes and a 16 hour battery life. The Dell DJ is paired with Dell branded MusicMatch software and music download service.
