Apple Announces Deadline to 'Get Ready' to Pre-Order the iPhone Duo

I’m so glad I’m sitting out the launch. I’m probably gonna pick it up in January after the holidays, but $2000 without going hands on with it, without seeing durability test and actual genuine reviews from people who actually are spending their own money on it, not paid influencers, not professional tech critics who don’t have to put up their own money to review it, it’s gonna sell out within 20 minutes, you’re not gonna be able to get your hands on one unless you pay a reseller I figure it’s easier to get one after the holidays. By that time, if there’s a major issue with the hinge or the screen, it will be widely known, people will have done actual durability test on it, and I’ll be able to play with one in the store and decide if it’s worth $2000 if so, then I’ll be happy to pick one up but every instinct in me tells me, just wait two months

I think you are going to be wrong. I am pretty confident that Apple is about to kick the foldable phone market into high gear. Hobby time is over when Apple does it.

Was super hyped. Then the checkout section… I have about a little over 1,000 in gift card balance from trading in a bunch of devices. And yesterday found out my truck I’ve driven for 25 years is not worth fixing. Somehow the Duo doesn’t seem as important. I told my wife I don’t care about the Duo anymore but she says I’ll regret it. But then if I pass I think I’ll regret it. The joys of midlife 40s whatever is going on with my emotions. To trade in several items I had to go back to the store I worked at in 2010. Only a few original employees are still there from the new store opening, and while I enjoyed talking to them, it hit me that for the first time I never even tinkered with a single product in the store. I just sat and waited for a specialist so I could trade in my items and it hit me that all of these fancy things are quickly out of date things that are just stuff. But if I do get a Duo I’m sure I swing back to the other extreme when I see that opening animation in person.

I went from being more excited about a product than I can remember in decades to meh. I guess I love everything except the knowledge of what happens after the transaction posts.
