So Amazon can sell these at a discount during RAMmageddon, but Apple themselves keep the prices jacked up. Got it.

Good to see these discounts when official prices have increased. Unfortunately it is not available in my country and there is no discount.

It's Apple's never ending love for putting 60hz on all their non pro screens that I notice the most. To me, 60hz displays blur too much after I've been spoiled for years now on high refresh displays.
I hear ya, but the MBA can easily drive a larger external monitor at 4K 120 Hz. But yes, if you rely solely on the native display then you're limited to 60 Hz.

Your early 2020's models will have to hold you over for a long while then... These prices are not going down any time soon. Revenues are still fine and Apple has been, along with other companies not just in tech, conditioning folks that this is the new norm. Buying a Big Mac in LA for nearly 8 bucks vs 4 bucks just a mere 10 yrs ago is insane, these examples are miles long.

Still better than 2500 bucks (about 8k in today's money) that they spent on the first Mac in 1984, I guess? LOL

I believe tech companies will slowly feel some burn. I've had some crazy friends upgrading their devices almost every year for minuscule returns. They're rethinking those life choices.

My advice is look into the used market, I bought my daughter a used MacBook Pro M3 Pro for about 800 bucks that still had 100% battery capacity. Let someone else take that huge 2-3 year depreciation hit.
Big Mac 😂😅🤣 I appreciate this humor.
