"all-time low price" = $197.99 is not true. I bought them when they were first released for $169 from Walmart.

It's a good price but they just stink so much. I bought the original twice and each time had to return. Could not get over the epoxy glue smell. Some people say they smell like blueberries, and I don't know what they mean by that because blueberries have such a subtle scent if anything at all. This was like a not-good-for-you toxic type odor. According to the Reddit Airpods subreddit the new ones still have a smell, but some people don't mind it. I really would like to buy them but for that one issue. I even kept the second pair airing out up until the return period was closing in, and it just never improved.
