I can see how a wallet case can be convenient, but if you lose one, you lose both.
OTOH, if you lose your wallet, you can have a friend call your phone or use Find my iPhone. ;)

While I'd love a wallet iPhone case, I just can't do it since I can't seem to find one that holds more than 4-5 cards.

Yes there is Apple Pay, but since there are places that still don't take Apple Pay and I have other cards that can't be added to the Wallet, I have to carry everything. :(
If needed, you can use each slot for more than one card. This is what I've done without any issues.
