TheMacMind posted an article entitled "Getting The Most Out of Your Dated Mac" which provides a good chart to look over to see if you're taking full advantage of your older macs sitting in the corner.

One notable ommision, however, is "router" so you can connect multiple machines to the internet. You can use IPNet Router as a Mac software solution.
