Altivec Support for VPC?

Largo writes "Hey Mac gamers, Sick of the so called kick butt performance of games with a voodoo 2 running in Virtual PC?
Well a friend of mine who works at Connectix says they've been working on [altivec support] for quite some time now, in fact he says apple and Connectix have had close communication and have been working on an attack on the PC Gamers market for quit some time also,(we've all heard the rumors of apple buying them out.) Well he says that there are many bugs that need to be worked out, but so far with a v2 12 meg vidio card on a 450 mhz G4(wich Virtual PC sees as a P111 running at 350 +or-) 128 meg ram, a 27 gig wd ATA/66, 7200 rpm, with a 2 meg cache buffer on it. He says Quake 3 Arena peaks out at about 45 Frames per sec. of coarse (limmited to the V2's 16 bit texture mapping) at 16 bit. they're also talking about a speacial V3 Driver, and also (for you 32 bit fannatics... I know your out there)the V4, & V5 driver. I'm siked to see this Version Rock. Well My wife is calling and the kids are cryin so I'll see ya all later. BYE :-)

AltiVec support would be welcome to come to anything beyond Photoshop. If true, this will be very cool.
