DigiTimes: 16-Inch MacBook Pro Will Feature Narrow Bezels and Launch in September
16-inch MacBook Pro rumors continue to surface, with hit-or-miss industry publication DigiTimes today reporting that the notebook will feature an "ultra-narrow bezel" design and launch in September.
The report suggests that the narrow bezels will allow for the 16-inch MacBook Pro to be roughly the same overall size as the current 15-inch model. Taiwanese contract manufacturer Quanta Computer is expected to assemble the notebook, according to the unnamed supply chain sources cited.
Multiple reports have claimed the 16-inch display will be supplied by LG and have a resolution of 3,072×1,920 pixels.
Last week, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the 16-inch MacBook Pro will also feature a scissor mechanism keyboard, as Apple finally begins to transition away from its troubled butterfly mechanism keyboard design.
16-inch MacBook Pro rumors are beginning to consolidate, but there are still a few conflicting details. This is the second report to mention a September release date, for example, but Apple typically unveils new Macs in October. Either way, it looks like the notebook is coming in the fall.
Kuo believes the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro will live on with refreshes in 2020.

Here’s the thing. If Apple decide what ports to have, somebody will be pissed. USB-A? Why not HDMI? DVI? MiniDisplay? Ethernet? Line In? FireWire?
You’ve got a port that can literally be any other port you need. What’s the issue? A $4 converter?
And don't drop the dongle bomb NO!
Real working Pro's don't want Dongles, Hubs or wacky cable solutions even today! And not likely for the next 10 of so years! I tried it and it was a mess!

The only reason would be greed and trying to make the money they lost with the bad butterfly keyboard design.
- Technology goes down in price with time while specs grow [B]up exponentially[/B].
Look at SSD drive capacity, RAM, etc.
- Apple removed most of the ports, DVD, etc which actually should reduce the cost even further.
- Apple forced us to have the useless Touchbar, for which they already increase the price for $400.00
- There has not been any major innovation that should justify a price increase. Increasing one inch in the monitor should not increase the price by $600.
If something the Macbook Pro should be reduced in price.
If they come at a starting point of $3k, this will be my last Mac.
I am done supporting a complete laptop nonsense design, of soldering components, non upgradability, lame keyboard, and removing best feature ever (Mag-safe) that has been going on for the past 4 years.
