Road warriors rejoice — and these days, who isn’t a road warrior? Built into Panther is a host of innovative features that keep you connected to your digital life even when you’re miles away from your desk.

Home away from home
Ever thought you could carry your home in the palm of your hands or in your pocket? You can. Panther's Home on iPod feature lets you store your home directory — files, folders, apps — on your iPod (or any FireWire hard drive) and take it with you wherever you go. When you find yourself near a Panther-equipped Mac, just plug in the iPod, log in, and you’re “home,” no matter where you happen to be. And when you return to your home computer, you can synchronize any changes you’ve made to your files by using File Sync, which automatically updates offline changes to your home directory.

Travel security
FileVaultWith Panther, you no longer need to worry about protecting your files when you’re on the road with your PowerBook or iBook. That’s because Panther’s FileVault gives you AES-128 (Advanced Encryption Standard with 128-keys) encryption security over your files and folders. This feature keeps your home directory safe from prying eyes by encrypting its entire content, automatically encrypting and decrypting on the fly so you won’t even know it’s happening. So if your PowerBook or iBook should ever fall into the wrong hands, you can rest assured that no one will have access to your files.

iDisk offline
iDiskIf you’re a .Mac subscriber, you know about the many benefits of iDisk, where you can store and share files, digital photos, calendars, etc. Panther now lets you to get even more out of it by giving you iDisk access when you’re not connected to the Internet. Say you want to make changes to your iDisk files using your PowerBook on the road nowhere near an Internet connection. With Panther, you can — because it makes the contents of iDisk available to you even when you’re offline; you work with your iDisk files just as you would with the files on your hard drive. And when you re-connect to the Internet, your changes are automatically synced.

NetworkingVPN connection
When you’re away from your office but need to keep connected to your company’s private network, Panther has you covered. Included in its Internet Connect application is a VPN client that supports the latest industry standards. Just enter your account and server information and it's as if you never left your office.
