Why the heck don't they ever have specials on the all-SSD iMacs?

I don't want a freaking fusion drive, I want all SSD. But those are never discounted. :(

The best deal you'll get for a new all SSD iMac is the Apple Refurbished Store. I know they are technically not considered brand new, but from all my experiences, the difference is indistinguishable.
I can't remember the last time I didn't buy a new Mac as a refurb. Some have even said they're better because they have been tested more thoroughly after being rebuilt. Whether or not that's true, I will say that I've bought at least 5 Macs as refurbs and have never gotten any with hardware issues.

Makes sense. I've had plenty of out of the box defects with new Macs. Of course, Apple is great about repairing them for free, but it's still a huge hassle that would interrupt work if I didn't have a backup Mac.

Because people will still buy them at regular price.

The 2015 iMacs would be selling at an additional discount than they were a year ago. Use a site tracking site like Refurb Store to subscribe for alerts when your desired configuration becomes available again for sale.
