Pathetic.

Apple's support for modern cameras is truly disappointing considering their history as an publishing/arts friendly company. Let's see, still no support for the fantastic GF1 which has been out for many months. But...at least we got support for the 18 month old LX3, just in time for this month's LX4 replacement announcement. I guess Aperture 4 might support my GF1 and the new LX4 in a couple of years.

I switched to Lightroom a year ago after waiting for LX3 support that never came. Glad I did. Adobe does their best to support new cameras on a timely basis, and they deserve our support for that! I just wish they would fix Flash...

Yay for Micro Four-thirds RW2 support. Boo for no DNG 5.4 support, which would of course bring any RAW format supported by Adobe online, not to mention allow those of us who prefer DNG to RW2 to go back to using Apple tools.

I am optimistic that, since they've presumably gotten the distortion correction working to handle G1/GH1 RAWs, it will only be a matter of time before DNG 5.4 is also supported.

Yay! My Leica and I are very happy. No more Capture One!

One weird thing is it won't let me install it without Aperture 3 or iPhoto 9. I'd think it should let me install it for finder support (or third party apps which might rely on OS support for RAW).

iPhoto and Preview works with Lumix DMC-LX3 now, but Aperture 2.1.4 still says it is unsupported image format (.RW2) and displays a tiny thumbnail of the image only (same as before).

Yes - the update only affects iPhoto 9 and Aperture 3.0, according to the release notes.

Apple's support for modern cameras is truly disappointing...

I would say it's ambivalent. I was surprised how fast and well the pretty exotic video format called "AVCHD Lite" was implemented to iMovie. Just some weeks after my Pana Lumix ZS3/TZ7 came out. Poor Windows users are struggling even today with that norm.

And who needs RAW? ;) Go out making photos not wasting time with pixel peeping.
