AppleTV at Costco - $289

I'll be checking my local Costco stores ... I have 3 within a short driving distance

Cool. Just like how the 5G iPods went for 279 (back when they were 299)

Here in the Fountain Valley Costco store in Southern CA.
I'm tempted but alas, I don't have the right TV for it.
Ah well.

The AppleTV is $281 at the online Apple Store for corporate employee purchase plan, but I got mine for $275.05 at my local Apple Store showing my employee ID. It was very easy to get my employer (an HMO) signed up for this program & it saves on Apple & third-party hardware & software.

I wonder if the :apple:TV display materials will be good enough to explain to people what the gadget is.

Doubtful unless apple gets way better at explaining what the :apple:tv is, I think I've had to explain to about five different people what the box is and how it works, even after they went to apple's website on it.

I get that same feeling when looking at an Airport Extreme or Airport Express retail box. They list things you can do with it without saying what it is.
