Apple Pulls Logic Crossgrade [Update: Final Cut Crossgrade gone as well]

Some readers have noted that Apple has pulled the Logic 7.2 crossgrade from its Online store. This has lead to speculation that the rumored Logic 8 (perhaps revamped (page 2)) may indeed be released this week at MusikMesse in Frankfurt, Germany.

Logic 7.2, a universal version of Logic, was released in February 2006. The last major release of Logic was back in September 2004 when Logic 7 Pro and Express were introduced.

Update: User 4God notes that Final Cut cross-grades have also been pulled. Final Cut Pro is expected to be updated at this year's NAB conference.

Note that besides the fact that the crossgrade has been pulled, we really don't have any reliable sources on Logic development, so pinning any dates is really speculation off of very unreliable sources.

And you know how much we like speculation

Sorry, off topic but I thought it should be noted:
They pulled the crossgrade for Final Cut Studio as well. The links
that are there take you to the product info page. The links on
that page are gone.

Edit: Probably this is expected though, after all NAB is a few weeks away
plus those invites told a lot as well.

Apple has also removed the Final Cut crossgrade. You can verify this by looking at the Google cache of the Final Cut Studio Page (as of this writing it was last crawled on March 21, 2007).

Google Cache of Final Cut Studio Page

Scroll to the bottom and you'll be able to see "Crossgrade". The current page no longer shows crossgrade. Note that you can still view and download the PDF file but note that the promotion ended on March 19, 2007.
