.Mac Webmail Sneak Peak

Apple has posted a preview of their improved .Mac webmail service with a familiar feel.

With its smart use of the latest web technology, it'll remind you of the Mail application on your desktop, with a simple and elegant interface, drag-and-drop capability, built-in Address Book, and more

The new .Mac webmail looks like Mac OS X's Mail client with support for drag-and-drop, smart refreshes, built-in address book, quick reply and more.

Apple's .Mac service is a US $99.95/year service offering web mail, and some Mac OS X integration.

For all you .Mac subscribers, our webmail will soon get a new look. It will have drop and drag, autofill, and other features to catch up with the other AJAX web mail applications.

I hope for more .Mac improvements in the future. :D

That's nice, but I'm still waiting for more storage.

To clarify, I have .Mac and love the features, I just think for $100/yr, Apple is being a little chintzy with storage (after all, Google offers 2 GB for free and AOL offers unlimited space for free).

Sweet. Makes me glad that I have 364 days left in my subscription!

Nice. That's quite an update, definitely a welcome feature. The .Mac updates seem to have become quite scarce recently...

Incidentally, where did you find that page? I can't see a link to it anywhere on Apple's .Mac page.

Hmm, yeah it looks like the main page alternates between the Webmail sneak peak and the free GarageBand loops. So sorry, never mind.

Sweet. As an adamant dotmac user this looks really cool. I use my web-mail frequently at work and it's nice to see it getting a major update! Hopefully they update the rest of dotmac too. As is it works great, but it could use some new features.
