A similar situation occured when the June 28th iPod Updater was found to contain phone related strings.

Agree with MattyMac, it would make sense for Apple to release an "iPhone" because they already have reached out to the average user through the iPod. If people saw an "iPhone", they would inevitably buy one for either its functionality, looks, or reputation. It would be a hit, and I see no reason for it to be unlikely.
