PowerBook & eMac EOL'd?
We have just been informed that PowerBooks as well as eMac Superdrive have been declared "End of Life" at the FNAC (largest multimedia consumer shop in France).
This means that once machines in stock have been sold; there will not be any new shipment for the same ordering number.
PS: this is not a rumor, simply a fact. We let you draw your own conclusions.

It won't be long obviously...
:p
(hehehe- soon though... these guys were right before about things...)
According to French Mac enthusiast site MacBidouille (english translation), current PowerBooks and eMacs have been declared end-of-life by French reseller FNAC.
Man, if it means the PB rumors will die down a little, I'm all for it. Bring on the 1.67GHz PBs already. :P
Is this a signal for immediate PB updates or sometime in June?
For this forum newbie and uneducated Mac enthusiast who is looking to purchase a PB....is this good news or bad news?

Could be good, could be bad, could be a combination of both.
Good: See my above post. :p
Bad: The PowerBook will be out of production until the next PB starts, like the iMac.

Products are (usually) EOLed prior to new models coming out. You may want to wait, at least until next Tuesday (the day of most new product announcements) to purchase a PowerBook.
I'm especially interested in the possibility of eMac updates. Will they be G4s which could cut into Mac Mini sales or G5s which would cut into iMac sales. Sticking with G4s probably makes more sense for Apple right now. If they are G5s, that would necessitate an update to the iMacs, probably, or the same problem of the iMacs being expensive eMacs with flat screens would return.
Or, maybe, no eMacs at all?
Nothing is expected for the Powermacs other than upgrades to 1.5-1.7Ghz G4s, right? No new other features?
