iTunes Music Store - Billboard Charts and iTunes Top 100
The new feature appeared on the front page of the iTunes Music Store last night, and provides yearly charts back to 1946. There are some gaps in the listings where (presumably) the song is not yet offered through the iTunes Music Store.
Apple has also posted a iTunes Top 100 Songs of 2003 compiled from their "most downloaded" records.

HA! Noticed the charts before the post! Anyways, yeah, I thought those looked new, I like 'em. Now we just need to fill in the holes in the charts . . .
Yeah! Um... what percentage of those holes are Beatles songs? :)

Too many. :(
I think once Paul McCartney gets his rights back from Michael Jackson he'll consider it, but until then, I doubt they will join.
Dave Matthews needs in as well.
Side note: Metallica has joined some dot coms now, soon they should be up as well (mwahahahahahaha!!!)
Check Metallica's website for more info, my room mate was showing that info to me.
But, I'd say those are the big 3 that need to join the online stores, thoughts?
Right now I searched for them and found an unofficial biography. Means nothing, right? Guess what, Metallica has an artist page on iTMS now (lacking any music). I bet this is an announcement at the keynote. I wouldn't doubt seeing other high-profile additions to the store today.

There is also a new "Pre-Releases" section, above "Just Added". At least, I assume this to be new - I can't remember seeing it before. Am I right?
That's been there.

I love RadioHead and have all their Full Albums. Half the enjoyment is the creativity they pursue when deciding how to release the album. Amnesiac as a library book was the coolest thing ever. I think they are one of the bands that create Albums, not a bunch of songs, and would like their music to stay together. The listener needs to experience the whole compilation. This is just my guess from reading up on them and listening to them over the years, but I think it's along the right lines...
