Has there been any more information about a possible "Soundtrack Lite" to be included with an updated iLife in January??

I wish Soundtrack wasn't so expensive. I'd love a nice, cheap recording app.

You wish it wasn't so expensive, becauase it is cheap? I don't know just struck me as weird. I have always wanted to try Soundtrack. See what it is like. And to the other person who said this isn't news or a rumor. It is news, and it is bigger news, which macrumors seems to be catoring too.

Has anyone tried it yet? I'm wondering if it's a release ready for, well, release. You know, after the whole Quicktime/10.2.8 mishaps...:(

Soundtrack is not a recording app. It's a loop based music composing, for lack of a better term, app.

TomSmithMacEd, Fargo eh? Enough said... Thanks for the laughs. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the grammar Tenacious B used.

"I wish Soundtrack wasn't so expensive. I'd love a nice, cheap recording app"

yup makes sense to me. He wishes that app was cheaper because he would like to have a GOOD cheap app.

And what is this about...

In america you can get a medal of
honor for killing a man, and an
honerable discharge for loving one.

Call me stupid but... this only means one thing. lol

THanks for making my night.

I'm installing the update now - Soundtrack is a great (and very finished-feeling) app, though it's pupose is a little limited. Unlike Deck, Peak, or Reason, all of which can be used for way more things than the box claims, Soundtrack is a fairly specific app when it comes to purpose - it is a looping utility, similar to Acid in that respect, and it is designed to sync these loops with video tracks, to create Movie Soundtracks.

But even if you aren't working on a movie, it's lots of fun to put together mini-tracks...

Huh? Soundtrack is already the lite equivalent of an iApp and cheap to buy also. If you wanted a professional version of Soundtrack then you would purchase Emagic Logic.

I really don't think Soundtrack could be reduced in features to make an iApp.

Soundtrack isn't for recording, it's for assembling music in a quick tempo synced fashion.

This one is a freebie from TC Works:
TC Works Spark ME

It's a great app which there is a pro version called Spark XL also if you need more control.
